Springtails are detritivores, which are animals that feed on dead organic material, especially
plant detritus. This makes them essential in naturalistic and bioactive setups as part of the
clean-up crew.
Tropical pink springtails are the second most popular springtail in the hobby. They are fast
breeding and can tolerate a range of environments from moist to semi-arid. They also make a
great feeder for smaller animals such as dart frogs.
Tropical pink springtails can be cultured on any medium successfully, such as springtail clay,
charcoal, plaster, and soil. Springtail clay is the easiest to harvest from.
Feed yeast, dry rice, fish flakes, or Springtails US springtail food mixes.
