Springtails are detritivores, which are animals that feed on dead organic material, especially
plant detritus. This makes them essential in naturalistic and bioactive setups as part of the
clean-up crew.
Cotton springtails are a true arid species, they are an ideal clean-up crew for dry or low humidity
environments. They will still require access to a permanently moist area for egg laying and
moisture regulation. This can be achieved by adding sphagnum moss under a water dish or
somewhere else in the enclosure.
Cotton springtails are cultured on soil with a moisture gradient and high ventilation.
Feed yeast, dry rice, fish flakes, or Springtails US springtail food mixes.
Cotton springtails ship on damp paper towel.
